We got in after midnight and figured the campsites would all be full so we stayed at the BLM.
We met up with Ryan the next morning, warmed up on The Hotrock, and headed to the Sandy Wash Corridor. Here's me on Lunge for It (V3 **).
Ben took a few shots of me on this problem.
Despite several tries, none of us could get the dyno part of this problem.
Me getting ready to spring on one of my many failed dyno attempts.
Later that day found Ben and I working on The Chube (V2 ***). Ryan didn't go because he didn't want to risk getting caught with Wish.
Some shots of Ben on The Chube.
Ben was able to send it after only a few tries.
Me slipping on the shoes for an attempt on The Chube.
As the sun started to set, it case some cool shadows in its fading glow.
Some nice sequence shots of one of my attempts.
It took me a few tries to get this one.
I kept getting stuck at the move to get over the final hump at the top.
Fortunately, I was able to get it before the sun went down.
After breakfast the next morning, I snapped a shot of this ridiculous looking billboard across the street.
We decided to take an easier day by doing the 2-pitch Dappled Mare (5.8). After the climb, this curious bird stopped by to greet us.
The bird decided to pose for some photos. It was really close - only about an arm's length's away!
After getting shutdown on The Boxer Problem (V2 **) <sigh>, Ben gave Out of Touch (V2 **) a try.
VIDEO: Ben sending Out of Touch (V2 **). We found a nice little branch to rest the camera so I could still spot.
Victorious Ben after sending.
We headed to Pig Pen (V4 ***) next. Here I am trying to figure out the sequence.
Now idn't dat just a lovely crotch shot?
I made some decent progress but still have a long ways to go. This one was fun though and I definitely want to come back to work on it!
We headed next to False Hueco, a very picturesque V1, especially with the blue skies and puffy white clouds.
