There was a nice lake about a 10 minute walk from our hotel, the Hilton Hanoi. Judy went running here the next morning where she saw>>>

That evening, after having dinner with Huy, our trip coordinator, we went to see the Water Puppet Show. Vietnam is known for this unique type of show.

We had lunch and then breakfast the next morning here at the Ciao Cafe. Here's a nice view of a busy intersection by the lake.
Hung, our Hanoi guide, took us to view Ho Chi Minh's embalmed corpse. There was a huge line for this; it's a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike. The strange thing is>>>
We chatted a bit with an English couple in line right in front of us. We'd run into them again later while visiting Hue.

This is the building where Ho Chi Minh first lived. He was not an extravagant individual, however, and requested to be moved to a smaller and more modest house nearby.
During the Vietnam War, U.S. Senator John McCain's plane was shot down and crashed into this lake. This was where he crawled out of the lake and was captured.
Mmmmm... snake and scorpion! It turns out we would see these things over and over. I never found out whether you just drink it or if you eat the snake and scorpion too.
