Latte's ready for her first out-of-state vacation!

2007-02-04_12-38-55

Latte gets comfortable atop my down jacket somewhere in Tahoe.

2007-02-04_12-42-46

For some reason, lying atop our bumpy bags was more comfortable than her bed.

VIDEO: During our first day at Brighton, we saw a porcupine crossing the trail!

2007-02-05_13-41-02

It was kind of comical because the porcupine kept sinking into the snow with each step it took.

2007-02-05_13-42-00

VIDEO: Another video of the porcupine... walking. Yeah, it's kind of boring, but hey, this is a monumental event - we've never seen a porcupine before!

One of the great things about our Salt Lake condo was the fiber optic internet. Now that's what I call broadband!

VIDEO: After taking a day off in which we visited the Park City downtown, we hit Snowbird where I tried to ski. Check out my exquisite form while I tear up a green run!

2007-02-08_07-22-12

This was a familiar scene during our evenings in the Salt Lake City condo - Judy fixed behind the MacBook Pro while planning our upcoming trip to Vietnam.

<<< Here you can see the just-installed high-speed tram going up to the Hidden Lake lodge.

VIDEO: Judy coming down a very uncrowded run.

2007-02-09_11-04-00

VIDEO: Long video of Patty linking some turns on a snowboard (video taken by Dave).

2007-02-09_11-04-05

Judy watches Dave and Patty come down the hill.

2007-02-09_11-23-18

Patty fell off her board going up the infamous Sundown tow-rope...

2007-02-09_11-23-22

...but was spared the walk of shame because one of the lift workers soon roared up the hill on his snowmobile to rescue the damsel in distress.

2007-02-09_11-23-35

Patty gets dropped off at the top of the hill. How's that for service?!

2007-02-09_11-45-00

VIDEO: Dave, Patty, and Judy come down the completely empty slope.

We did our usual run down to the Paradise lift where we found, much to our dismay, that the lift was closed for repair!

2007-02-09_12-18-13

There were no signs indicating that Paradise was closed and worse, the two workers at the lift did not have radio contact with anyone. Fortunately, >>>

The workers were on the top of the lift pole repairing some problem with the cable alignment.

It wasn't long before we were being towed up to the Hidden Lake lift. Here, Patty and Dave take the first trip up.

2007-02-09_12-57-32

Checking out the view from near the Hidden Lake lodge.

2007-02-09_13-44-00

VIDEO: Since there was no fresh powder to be found, Dave and I decided to check out the terrain park. Here's a couple of lame attempts by me on one of the park's boxes.

2007-02-09_13-52-00

VIDEO: A comical attempt by me on the quarter pipe.

2007-02-09_13-57-00

VIDEO: An even more comical attempt by me on the quarter pipe. Good entertainment value!

2007-02-09_14-19-00

VIDEO: A few of my credit-card sized jumps.

As part of a recent management change, Moose Hollow no longer provides complimentary Moose Tracks ice cream. Good thing Latte was willing to go out and get some ice cream for us.

2007-02-10_11-06-45

The next day at Snowbasin. Patty proclaims that she intends to bomb straight down the mountain.

2007-02-10_11-14-51

The view down to the Strawberry Express. With all the brown in the valley below, it's clear that this has been a pretty dry year.

2007-02-10_12-32-52

Trail kill. We found this poor little guy right in the middle of the trail, probably run over by a skiier or boarder.

2007-02-10_13-51-00

VIDEO: I shot this clip of Judy from the lift.

2007-02-10_14-21-00

VIDEO: Here I am tearing it up in the kiddie park. Git back all you little boys and girls!

2007-02-11_08-17-00

VIDEO: The morning of our departure. Here's a video pano from the front of our lodge. Kind of bleak, but still way better than sitting in a cube. There's always next year!
