Bouldering at Joe's Valley and Big Bend (Moab). Plus, riding the famous Porcupine Rim trail in Moab. Includes must-see-video of Ryan's highly spectacular crash!

VIDEO: Ryan does a little wheelie drop off some slickrock. As you'll see later, he should have practiced these a bit more.
Driving back along the dirt road after the ride. Those are the headlights of Ryan's truck against a pretty sunset.
We used our newly bought Nuvi 350 GPS to find this steak house located seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The food was actually pretty good. Score one for the GPS!
At the turnoff to the Warm-Up Area in the Right Fork of Joe's Valley. Ryan and Judy scope out the rock while eating lunch on the crash pads.
VIDEO: Unfortunately, it started raining so we decided to head to Moab a day earlier than planned. Along the way, it starting raining, sleeting, and hailing really hard!
It was too wet to climb or bike so we decided to kill some time by going to Big Bend to check out the boulders.
This mushroom boulder was pretty cool looking. I wanted to hop on and do a traverse around it, but was afraid that I'd end up breaking it.
VIDEO: One of the under-appreciated activities in Moab is... bowling! Hey, what else can you do there to pass a rainy day?
We're a sad bunch of bowlers, but check out the two strikes in a row for Judy and me in the final frame! >>>
After meeting up with Gary and Jake for dinner at Pasta Jay's, we camped in this lot along the road to the Slickrock trail. We didn't know if it was legal or not.
Blue skies were back! Since the boulders were sandstone and still wet, we needed to wait for them to dry out before we could climb. We decided to do the practice loop of the Slickrock trail.
VIDEO: Boring video of Ryan and Judy climbing up one of the slickrock hills. Judy was kind of flailing this ride and couldn't even make it up this hill.
VIDEO: Judy goes down this drop and almost endoes (but doesn't). It's pretty good for Judy, but she's afraid to do it again.
VIDEO: Ryan and me take turns going off the drop. Yes, we know that it looks pretty lame, but hey, it was fun.
After lunch at the Eklectic Cafe (hmmm, can you guess who chose that place?), we hit the Block Top boulder at Big Bend.
VIDEO: Several of Ryan's many attempts on Block Party (V5). We just couldn't get that final move to the top.
VIDEO: A couple of my tries on Block Party (V5). This would have been my first outdoor V5, but alas, it was not be on this trip. >>>
We camped at the same lot in front of the Block Top boulder. It got pretty cold that night, and we were greeted with a layer of frost the next morning.
The next morning we met up with Gary and Jake to do the Porcupine Rim trail. Here we are at the trail end setting up the shuttle.
