Our short visit of New York City.
View from the plane as we get ready to land at the Newark airport.
Lots of lakes here. We're definitely not in California anymore!
On Saturday, we decided to walk around New York City.
We spent the morning walking through the Times Square area.
Free market capitalism at its best (or perhaps worst?).
Everything just seemed so elaborate and over the top...
Like this Planter's ad with the moving can of nuts.
All the lights probably look a lot cooler at night.
This one's pretty cool - the whole face of the building is a screen, and the screen even goes around the individual windows.
Talk about elaborate! This huge thing to advertise a bank?
This was pretty cool. They were showing surfing and snowboarding videos on this screen.
The screens were above the Quicksilver store.
I took a few shots trying to the time the picture with a cool snowboarding jump onscreen.
As we walked around, this big bicycle procession passed by.
Not sure what the event was, but it was entertaining to watch.
At the Adidas store, they were advertising "The World's First Intelligent Shoe".
The front of the store had this huge scale model of the shoe - pretty cool!
Another view of the model.
You've got to check out the 911 site if you're in NY. This is what the future WTC will look like.
Here's some shots of where the towers used to be.
This is a nice tribute in memory of all those who died here that day.
We took the subway a few times. It was a bit too crowded for my tastes.
MOVIE: Some sort of funky martial arts dance ritual.
MOVIE: A closer shot. Too bad these guys don't seem to be as good as the ones earlier.
Next to the martial arts dancing, this guy was providing his theories on the events behind 911.
Pretty unique looking building.
Trump Tower. We didn't even know it was there until Judy recognized the wireframe globe from The Apprentice.
I totally wish we had a roll luggage. I would have filmed Judy walking out the front door.
Who would have guessed? Bouldering in Central Park!
It actually looked like a really nice bouldering area. Too bad we didn't bring our shoes.
Cool silhouette of a squirrel eating an acorn.
